Added support for Sticky/Announcement posts, YouTUbe-style video embeds, WordPress Tables for data, upgraded search via Search Unleashed: “Advanced search engine that provides full text searching across posts, pages, comments, titles, and URLs. Searches take into account any data added by other plugins, and all search results are contextually highlighted. You can also highlight incoming searches from popular search engines.”

And another dozen or so new themes with an emphasis on NY team colors. :)

    New Blog Themes

    September 29th, 2007

I added a ton of new ad-supported Blog Themes today, including many in the colors/schemes that would be most suited to some of the New York area non-Mets sports teams, e.g., The Jets, Giants, Devils, Rangers, Nets, etc.

We now offer more than 2 dozen preloaded “looks”. Remember you can pick a WordPress theme from anywhere and email us and will upload it to the server.

    September 29th, 2007

Every registered NYFS user is a sportswriter covering the Mets. By registering you are provided with a free “Blurb” tool, which allows you to write anything you want about the Mets past/present/future. Staff members will then preview your post for content and publish it to the main site. All your “Blurbs” are aggregated on your NYFS profile page.

    NYFS Historian

    September 29th, 2007

We have a new tool here at NYFS to allow NYFSers to help us maintain the accuracy of the historical database here, re: retired players, former Mets and prospects, etc. called “NYFS Historian”

We need some volunteers to participate. It doesn’t require any commitment or minimum effort, or responsibility. Just gives you access to help fix errors and update information on the player pages from a link on the main site, just like the “AddABlurb” tool, as your copius free time allows.

There’s no age requirement, just a working knowledge of Google and Wikipedia for fact checking, and command of the English language. We’re going to be adding a lot of new data/stats here in the not too distant future, and we want to make sure we keep all the player records comprehensive and accurate.

Please let me or Zach or Calli know if you are interested in helping, or we could possibly draft you regardless. Consider yourself warned.
